Yes that is the right word it describes both the road surface and the melted riders that showed up.

It was 42.6 c in the shade, it was 49.7 c riding on the road, and I hit 51.8 c on the way home going up lake road.

It's called duty of care Ferret, I would have loved to race but the club and it's officials can't hold racing in those conditions responsibly.

The Ferret

I don't know how many Ferret's we have, or even how old they/he would be.

But I do have a distinct recollection of The Ferret having a go at KOCC for running a race
in excessive heat conditions last year sometime.

The Ferret felt that running the race was foolishness, and the phrase "duty of care"
was put forward as a common sense reason for not racing.

Is The Ferret losing his memory? Or do I just have an overactive imagination?
(and nothing better to do on a Sat night!).

Spandy.

If enough juniors turn up there will be a race for them.

Spandy,

What a very good memory you have!  Much like mine.  I can also remember The Ferret saying such a thing !

I think you will also find that The Ferret is in fact not loosing his memory, but in fact The Ferret is two people IMHO.

Now I also beleive The Ferret(s) admitted to being in a Team.  Now there are a couple of close comrades in Newcastle Cycling that fit the profile..

If my memory serves me correctly these people have never in the past been accused of being The Ferret.

The first couple that come to mind are in a Team and I beleive one was overseas very very recently.  His unemployeed bald mate even mowed his lawn for him.  Such friendship would enable them to team up as The Ferret(and keep it a secret). They have both been around cycling for a long time.  One claims to have taken the 8th spot/place at the 1986 Mercey Valley Tour.

The second couple that come to mind are also in a Team. One is very very tall(and I wouldn't like to meet him in a dark lane) and the other is quite short and I beleive he works as a delivery man. Both have been around cycling for a long time.

Now come on and admitt it Ferret I'm right or very close !?!?

Yours in hunting....

I can say that I did suggest "The Choker" as being the Ferret a long long time ago, but never in partnership with that bent chicken Witho.  Interesting.  They both spend hours together trying to beat iLovell, which iLovell will tell you is not something they have been very successful in achieving.  Perhaps the pent up rage at being bettered by iLovell is what fuels The Ferret, just as C grade recently passed B grade in a race in a attempt to shut the Milf up, but my sources tell me Milf did not shut up all of that race...

The other alternate suggestion - one being the only person providing a better wheel to sit on than me and an infamously large mouth, and the other being  born in a poor south pacific nation - also interesting.

The Ferret might respond by suggesting you are a thinker, son

Shalom

I did not know there was a Milf racing in B grade, there are some women but they are without child.

Mr Jorgan,

There a person known as "The Milf" but he is not a milf.

If you race B grade you will know The Milf.  He can be seen coming 3rd most Friday nights, talking non stop at the rear of the pack with his Campag ratchet making noise, and generally running down fat C grade bunters like me.  He means well.  He must be close to moving to A grade, which will be fun for him.
