Metor,

I have berated some A graders after a finish when they attempt to turn, disrespectful to any other individual on the course. Even though I regularly teach individuals, I do not want to step on the commissaire's toes and feel he did what he had to do last Friday. I don't think he is biased and can only call the situation as he sees it.

I was waiting to see if other comment came forth in respect to Testicles Smith and the cherub gollywog, Ebo. Both should leave the angst on the bike and remember it is a simple club race at the 'Gang. Smithy is sprinting very well, is strong, and obviously backs himself. Could be a good 6 or so weeks left of racing on Friday nights. Let's leave that one on a positive note.

Ferret,

You may wish to utilise your pacifist skills in keeping your fellow A graders from having tantrums and getting physical with one another.  We do not seem to have these problems in the lower grades.

That said, Ebo and "Go Steve" are hardly the most volatile people.  Perhaps you might have incited a little tension with your poaching allegations and overtly pro-HDCC anti-KOCC comments.  I know EBO is a staunch HDCC member, and "Go Steve" is equally supportive of KOCC. One thinks they might have less to disagree about if they were both HDKOCCs. :)

Metro,

Even though I am of Jewish extraction, and still connect with this faith, I have also dabbled in Buddhism. Son, I can pick the yin and the yang in most things. Some people you can pacify, others all you can do is wind up as you try to pacify them. The Ferret connects with both faiths but subscribes totally to the theory that if these people are stupid, why waste your time trying to educate them. My teachings provide me with experience in this regard.

Son, the poaching allegations and Old Boys Clubs within KOCC are no joke. Sure, a club bearing the name HARDKOCC would probably attract members (pardon the pun). I would be prepared to be the publicity officer for such a club. My first call would be to Ron Jeremy (The Hedgehog) to see if he would allow us to emblazon his face on the club shirt. As for the lower grade riders, they would argue more over the position of the sugar on the table at the coffee shop. When I have punctured in A grade (I don't get dropped) and the lower grades come through, they're all having a chat. Quite social, not tough enough for an argument.

Ferret,

Your marketing skills would be useful in the merged club - the greater the members the better the racing.

I think the absence of arguement in the lower grades might be due to those grades not taking themselves as seriously as some in A grade take themselves. Perhaps it is the weight of expectation that I and many others will not experience.

If my mail is correct (and we all know the answer to that) a couple of new sub-groups within KOCC will be sporned(sic)............. The other sub-group of interest is the Cessnock Old Boys within KOCC. That will be a small party with Matt Augutis(not really old but is a "boy)" and Gai Monahan( definitely old and as a mother of five, definitely not a boy). If The Ferret's mail is correct, Gai is going in to get some ink done. Mr Augutis might lose the mantle of being the most tattooed ex-Cessnock member soon!!

Ha! Now I know exactly how accurate Ferret's mail is.

Do keep in mind who is the trendsetter in the Coalfields. I joined Cessnock CC and left before Matt started racing at Mulbring.  Who was the first to join KOCC??  Who was the first to take up track racing ??.  I may be older and slower but I was the FIRST to do all these things.

Further, if I had spare cash, I will definitely spend it on BLING for my bikes ( there's still a few things on my wish list- before  upgrading the bikes to higher than entry level).

No offence taken

P.S.  come to Cessnock West Newsagency and check out our range of INK inspiring magazines. !

Shalom

Gai,

A good catholic girl.........I won't say any more!! I have no problems with Catholics, but leave you with this thought: You never hear of buddhist monks or rabbi's touching little boys. Shalom

Gai, no offence intended, at your age, you probably started most things in Newcastle before anyone else. The Ferret is also not against INK. For I have just recently had a design put to skin. I'm no Rosie or M. Augutis, and mine isn't as prominent, but it is not hidden either ie I didn't get a W on each arse cheek that spells WOW every time I touch my toes.

It's a shame you didn't get that one Mr Ferret.

Being a ferret, your long back allows for a great deal of flexibility.

Hence, you could quite easily read your own arse, or kiss it - whichever took your fancy.

Spandy,

Most A graders just worry about fitness. At my age, I work hard at flexibility. I can still achieve every position on the Karma Sutra. Shalom

Ferret,

That is all very well but this is a bike racing forum. Very nice to see Matt A and Josh T, the latter on a SS, win A grade by a huge margin. If your theory on how they came to join KOCC is correct it seems the poaching was well directed and we might be calling Lee "Johann".  Well done boys!

Metro,

You would have to put the W's on your hamstrings to spell WOW. I hear you won on Sunday (before the premier grade finished). If my mail is correct, some people in attendance claim you looked more astonished than anyone else that you crossed the line first. Can you share this "annual" experience?

Ferret,

Yes, I was astonished, as I had not intended to contest the sprint (tired from my efforts earlier in the race, such as they were) but at the last moment thought "why not - see how far up  in the bunch I can get".  Coming from a fair way back in the bunch, knowing Mal Stark and Skillo were in the bunch and primed for a sprint, and taking the bunch on the windward side I thought my chances of a place let alone the win were about the same as Witho and Dave Wells deciding the shack up together.  It was a nice suprise, and I think the last win I had involved the squealing of brakes as others gifted me the win.

Witho, iLovell (that perpetual journeyman of the Angry Grade), Snedden and others enjoyed breakfast @ 3 Beans this morning on the rather large winnings from yesterday.

Very touching to see Ebo and Darren "Go Steve" give each other a cuddle before the race.  Nice to see two of the better riders in the Angry Grade burying the hatchet and getting on with racing.

Does that mean a B grade start for the next Invitational ?

Boostie,

No idea. I had a 3rd or a 2nd not that long ago but I have no idea what that means to Jimmy. I think he has a points system because a while ago I "had the points" to go to A grade but as part of the then new grading to account for the then younger masters grades he kept me back, and might have brought some people back to B.

I am guessing I am still in C.
