Cycling-savvy physio
« on: December 24, 2009, 07:11:29 am »
Hi,

Don't know whether I should have put this into my previous topic about a bike fit in Newcastle , but thought 2 topics might be more informative for people searching in the future.

Anyway, my question. Can anyone suggest a good sports physio please? I have some knee pain since trying cleats a month ago and the pain hasn't gone away even though I returned to riding without cleats.

thanks,

Dirk

Try Sport and Spine at Adamstown.  I've been more than happy with my treatment and care.

Sounds like you did not set the cleats up correctly.

My secret to keeping my knee pain at bay is to use Voltaren gel on them when I start to feel pain or swelling, I usually put it on before bed and wake up the next day pain free, I have an old injury that I have to keep tabs on using orthodics and other management keeps me cycling.

As for the physio I don't know who is cycling savvy in the area, I do know that Rick Nadalin a chiro from Wallsend has helped me when I had a twisted spine after a fall, he is a member of KOCC club and races.

He was located at the following address last time I went there.

There are a few massage therapists that are bike riders in Newcastle, Chris Groves and Noel Bromage.

I have used Regent Street Physiotherapy @ Lambton - very good.
Well, no merger so far....

Thanks people,

One of my colleagues also suggested Regent Street Physio, though he is not involved in any sport. I'll give them a try then.

Dirk
