Hey Dr Rob,

Welcome to the "smack-talk" Olympics!
We have a number of gold medal contenders on the Newy forum.

The Aussie slang term "Showbags" comes to mind when I think of this lot!

Ciao,

I am not. I am merely a lurker on these forums who wants to better himself on the road and track.

Spandy,

You have an older sister?  Do not let some of my training partners know that - they prefer to ride the Speers Point cycleway than the much quicker route via the road just so they can look for cougars out trying to the Zipp dimples on their saddlebags.

Dr Rob,

The speed of a cyclist is inversely proportional to the number of posts a person has on this forum.  I am therefore the slowest cyclist, and Ferret (despite his ravings about being a winning A grader) is not far behind.  Boostie might well be the exception to the rule, for he started wearing black socks long before Lance made wearing black socks and sleeping with rock stars cool.

Lance still can not make riding a TREK cool - sorry Commando, Magic Steve and Turtle, but they's the facts!   Even TTK had the sense to purchase a LeMond.

Metro,

Go Steve doesn't worry about not being cool (except for when he gets his "yeah-heah hair done). As for his bike, he breaks about 3 Treks a year, so the extended warranty he has created by each renewal is like money in the bank. As for Turtle, he breaks about 3 Treks a year, but it is not through a defect in the manufacture. He is the person solely responsible for making Commando supremely rich. As for TTK, he was advised by Active that Lemond meant "spaniel" in French, and he wanted to spank it hard every day. Shalom

Commando,

You got the last bit right. The last couple of times I've been in your shop everyone was there, bar you!! Good life you've got. I might have to look at a bike shop.........   (finally that commerce/law degree might come in handy)

Is it nature or nuture that makes a champion?

Metro,

It must be nurture. I must be so unlucky, the last two times I have been to Commando's shop he has not been there. Please tell me what day of the fortnight you are there so that we might chance a meeting (although you wouldn't know it to be me). So, clearly, he is away from work and nurturing his progeny. Potentially with that much nurturing they may be champions. Shalom.
