Burglars (Metro is one). Velodrome handicaps on the interweb!
« on: November 24, 2009, 09:31:48 pm »
Check the current velodrome handicaps on www.hunterdistrict.com/velodrome.  Metro is off a good mark.  Kate Finegan is the stand out burglar.

Who else looks to have slipped the handicappers some cash?

Yes, quite a soft handicapping for me.  I was happy to remain in C grade!
Well, no merger so far....

So where were you Metro?

You missed the spectacle of 12 x A-graders going pretty hard each time they raced.

Yes, A-grade had the most numbers on the night!

He was last seen heading west, trying to distance himself from any up-grade that may have been imposed.

Non-attendance due to family committments - work is busy, and too little time spent with family lately, so cycling has to be the thing that is compromised.

However, I do not see any need to avoid racing in case I might be re-graded to B grade.  If it happens it happens, and I am comfortable in either C grade or B grade - there are people in both grades who can comfortably beat me and have done so, and there are people in both grades who I can easily beat and have beaten.  No big deal - it is all racing.

I am very impressed with the number of A graders who turn up - many of whom are in A grade on the road as well.  Those of us in the lower grades on the road might note that a fair number of A graders see track as of some benefit to their cycling...

No complaints regarding my handicapping ;), and I am very very glad the threatened move up to B grade has not occurred ;D.  My skills are not there for B grade, and my fitness and speed are also better suited to B grade.
 >:(
There are, however, a few who might feel they have been handcapped to harshly, with their grading reflecting their former abilities than their current abilities, but I guess they have to turn up and get dropped a few times to be relegated.
