afternoon riding newcastle/maitland area
« on: November 10, 2009, 11:50:33 am »
Hi everyone

I was wondering if there are any group rides or just people who ride of an afternoon around the Newcastle, East Maitland / Maitland area.

the reason why im asking is that i can only ride of an afternoon due to the times i start work of a morning and it really sucks seeing all the people out riding on there bikes as im going to work /cry. i am happy riding by my self but its more fun with others to push you along.

I live near east maitland but work in town so I'm flexible when it comes to where i can ride i just bring my bike with me. if there are any groups who wouldn't mind one more or just someone who rides by themselves and would like some company please post below.

cheers

I ride quite a lot in the afternoon am heading off today for a decent ride before track training

I tend to ride near the lake however, but sometimes I head into town and also up the link road and down around West Wallsend.

Often ride from East Maitland on either Monday or Wednesday afternoon.

Head out towards the farms of Duckenfield, leave around 4.45-5pm.

Would be happy to join in a bunch if there was a few takers.

Maybe suggest a meet place and a day and see who turns up?

i was thinking on a place to meet up around east maitland that is good for all parties and i think either the Good Guys car park at Green Hills or the Thornton/Bero Mcdonalds say around 5 pm on monday.

I prefer Good Guys but I'm easy either way both sites give good access to the back way to Raymond Terrace through Duckenfield what do u all think ?

Good Guys car park at 5pm Monday sounds the go.

Ride out toward the Terrace through Duckenfield.

Hope you make too Hillbilly!

Not sure about taking ownership of ride though!

I won't be going today, Sunday was one of those days where I should have stayed in bed.

Got home from Sydney cup at DGV at 1 am did not end up getting to sleep until 2 am, had a bad nights sleep due to drinking too much caffeine (so I would not fall asleep driving home), got up and rode over to crit only raced for 20 mins before rear puncture, then on the ride home got stung by a bee on leg, causing lots of pain and swelling and a nasty head ache all day, leg is still very sore some 30 hours later.
