state open racing regulations
« on: March 15, 2011, 06:28:24 pm »
I am thinking about entering the Cervelo Masters super series races at the end of April, but i have a few questions i am hoping someone on here can answer.
1) I have an Elite Men's license but in age am Masters 1 - can i still enter masters events?
2) Do you have to wear a club kit? unfortunately i cannot afford to buy one right now - and i know that many years ago they would allow you to wear plain black knicks and a plain white top to compete as long as you didn't have any commercial advertising.
3) If you do have to wear a club kit, does it have to be the new design or cold it be an old one? if this is so, then does anyone have an old kit for sale cheap?

I know if you have an Elite license you can race a Masters event (obviously you need to meet the age requirement!) - I asked the same of Cycling Australia and the reply was that.
Jens Voigt once challenged Lance Armstrong to see who had more testicles. Jens won by 5.

I thought they got rid of Masters 1. When I renewed my licence this year the only option was Elite.

Elite licences allow you to enter both categories, provided one exists. Perhaps that's up to the race organiser.

I raced two CD events last year in illegal kit without sanction, not sure how you'd go at a larger race.

Dr Rob - they had masters 1 at the state track titles, but i think they combined it with masters 2 because of numbers.

Commando - thanks I think i have a plain white jersey - just might need to stick a bit of tape over the brand name.

CFR1, I have a medium shirt and nicks you can borrow if you like. I'll be wearing the new kit.  See me Friday night. Cheers

Thanks Bill - sorry i didn't get back to you I haven't been able to access this site for some reason and haven't been to racing because of illness. I solved my problem. I had an outfit for the cycling shop i go to and found out that it was registered for racing - so i signed the list and can now ride in their outfit. Now i just have to produce some results so their brand is not associated with being slow.

I think i'll use the first superseries as a training run for some fitness - im really after the Hunter Grand Prix criterium - which by the way needs some entries - I am first on the list for division two

I also see that Thor has signed up for a couple of races - good to see him getting back into it.

I haven't been able to access this site for some reason

The website has been up and down for a week or so due to the websites host being hit by a DOS (Denial Of Service) attack, hence the reason why I was not able to post up the local racing fixtures.

Same here have had a bit of a forced break, went for my first ride in nearly 4 weeks this morning, glad the bunch was taking it easy as I was huffing and puffing just trying to stay with them.

its tough to get back in after illness Boostland - you feel like you have lost so much fitness - i've been crook for 6 weeks and am still under the weather the only positive is that i have lost some weight. I'm going to miss racing the last Kooragang but will try to swing back for the next criterium.
