Messenger Bag

From the men of the world out there and there must be a few, I seek your help.  I have need for a messenger bag - to carry my important stuff from office to construction site - walking to current project but foresee the time when bike or other may provide carriage.

There are lots of bags out there but I need to be able to carry a hard hat and would prefer to capture it in a cargo net - just like the one on the Vaude that I use riding to work.  The one I currently use isn't made for a hat and has a single compartment so the hat is just stuffed in with the rest of the goodies - not well organised.

Bag should be able to hold the usual stuff as well as a set of A3 plans.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
