Well I didn't need to go back to my old bike.
I got dropped to C grade at HVV anyway after 2 x B grade races finishing in the pack.
They're tough at my new club.  I am not complaining. I will train harder and I'll be back.

Looks like I have already transferred......

1st Luke Youngman (LACC)
2nd Bryan Atkins (HDCC)
3rd Alexis Kaless (MWCC)

I don't know who should be more upset, me or HDCC!  The Ferret couldn't have had anything to do with this as I was in full beard and a picture of sartorial elegance in my WAMM kit   :o

Dogma,

Look at your avatar son. Everyone sees the light at some stage in their life. Shalom

DW,

That is called being looked after by your own club son. If you were in that ridiculous WAMM kit, I'm surprised you weren't shuffled back two grades to D!!

Ferret....He For Whom the Light Does Shine

The only light I've seen lately appeared to be coming from the end of a tunnel.....and I was warned not to let it's warmth and brightness seduce me (now there's a thought).  Is that how it works at HDCC?

Wait until you see the new WAMM.......Skinsuit  ::)

Dogma,

thats what we all keep saying about the WAMM colours,,, we cant see it!

You guys should start a new line of workwear for people who dont need to be seen - name it No Vis workwear!

I'm looking to transfer from KOCC to HDCC, mainly because I am very grateful of the efforts that go into the training and racing at the velodrome. (I am aware that means I may actually have to turn up and race now and then seeing that I'm back in town).

Is it as simple as just turning up at a HDCC race (early) and signing up, now that my licence has expired? Or is there a bit of paperwork involved to be 'transferred' from one club to another? I have the option to simply renew online but the CA website doesn't have an option to switch clubs.

Hope to see you all back out there soon. Rob.

My understanding is that you need a clearance from your previous club to state that you are free of any fines or suspensions.  This was how it used to work, not sure if it still applies.

You can download a transfer form from the NSW cycling web page.
You have to get it signed from the president/treasurer at KOCC.
You then have to go to HDCC complete the membership form and give them the money & the transfer form.

I agree entirely.

Although the faces and portfolios have changed, not much has really changed over the years in relation to HDCC involvement with the velodrome.

When I started learning track about five years ago, Blundo (registered member of HDCC) was coach/Velo Trust Pres/Wednesday MC/commie.  Robbie who helped out
with Wed night racing was also a member of HDCC.  Then we had Mick as coach/commie who was HDCC Pres as well. Fast forward now to the current regime, as you stated,
also HDCC members.

The efforts of the above helpers is much appreciated.  Also for the Vets members and others on the Trust or who help out with maintenance/training/racing.

I don't have any strong opinions about which club anyone else decides on.  Horses for courses.

The only real reason why I changed clubs myself, was so I could race with any club I wanted on Sunday mornings. (My previous club usually races on Sunday and racing
at other clubs, like the Vets and the Gosford Uni crits, was not permitted).

(One thing that KOCC does better at present- it probably is a matter of coincidence- it hasn't really been planned- is that more KOCC women do track than HDCC .)

Fast Gai,

Is Methuselah's wife the oldest?

Robbo,

If my mail is correct son, it was observed that you "ferried" a largish KOCC member(who actually owns a HD kit) to Taree. I am reliably informed that the lure of the VIP fast food sticker on your windscreen was the clincher. Be warned son, don't stand near wet concrete that is deep. A few of the KOCC Executive sharks are circling. You have been warned. Shalom

Dr Rob

glad to see you have seen the light son. I will PM you with the details required.

Ferret,

I admit to the mistake I made on Saturday. I always thought driving a 4 cylinder diesel would enable me to travel to taree and back on one tank of fuel. Not so when such a load is taken on. In saying that, it still chewed less 'fuel' than the said passenger. Lucky said vehicle is a small truck and therefore had room for 6 cartons of iced vo vos and 10 packets of musk sticks (each way).

The behaviour of the KOCC member was becoming quite frantic in Taree whilst sourcing sufficient supplies for the return trip. At one stage I was worried for the young local mother pushing her twins around in the double pram. His suggestion that she only needed one of her kids was met with confusion from the locals. If they knew who they were talking to it would have been terror not confusion...

Robbo,

No doubt this family was from Purfleet. He would have only kept the second twin alive, not devoured same, to secure a cheap home loan and a government funded Baum titanium bike based solely on the fact that as a traditional owner of any minerals that come out of the ground that go into a Baum, he is deserving of one. He thinks he tans well too. Shalom

Ah, Robbo - good story.  The facts were that I was the only person in said truck who did not have a mid journey snack of any kind (although you were tempting fate with that Maxibon icecream....), and I think the only person who did not have at least one sausage sandwich.   Sure, I raced less than all bar the Gifted One, but I was really really good at resisting my natural tendency to eat at will.
Well, no merger so far....
