Commuter,
It is a Nissan GTR v a clapped out Kingswood Ute.
MC

No, no, no Mr M.C.

I am thinking more along the lines of a Subaru Impreza WRX and a Leyland P76.

...wide, flat wedge styling with a low front, deep hip-lines and a big, squared-off tail...

Those guys at Leyland sure knew how to make a car that was really special  :D

Our worst effort of the season tonight, sorry folks.

Low numbers, a crash in the pre race training session requiring 2 ambos, and a fair amount of confusion throughout the evening.

We learnt a lot and will hopefully not have another program run so short and jumbled.

BTW, there WILL  be racing each Wednesday night over the next few weeks as each one falls on a normal Wednesday.

How long is the "Chapman Challenge" going for??

I watched last night and am very keen to have a dig in a week or two once my track bike no longer feels like someone dropped the stem about 4 inches on me while it was in the shed.

The crash involved young Peter Lewis and Ryland Willis. It happened at a slow speed but Ryland had a suspected broken collar bone last i heard and Pete had a hole in his head. Pete did not have his helmet done up and paid the price. Mick Chapman gave the Academy squad a blasting reminding us about Brian Radcliffe and i think Pete has learnt his lesson.
Does anyone know anything more about young Ryland?

Annother good nights racing (never a dull moment) turned up to see 2 abulances there little Peter lewis nursing a sore head another rider on the deck and this all before racing started plent of spectators for the short programe plent of tactics in the handicapp heats to get to the final. ther were 3 rider to have a go at the flying 1000M motor pace. Junior Robbo thought he had the time that would not be beeten but he was wrong ( the self confidence of youth) Jonno Millington came out and did a 61 sec flat. Reece thought he would have another go but ended up with square wheels in the last lap. it was another good hcp final with a good feild of riders, hope the handicapper hasn't seen results last 2 weeks. finnished of with kerins there were a few rider that failed to back up. thanks to all the people who put the racing on for the riders.

Welbie, young Ryland has a broken collarbone and a new lesson learnt. I think I may have a sign made up for the entry onto the velo from the warm up track reminding riders to look before going onto the track.

Young Peter wasnt the only one to have unclipped his helmet, hence the blast from Mick was spot on. Hopefully lessons learnt all round.

Depending on weather and numbers there definitely will be racing next Wednesday. There was some talk that there wasnt any planned, however it is all on as per schedule.

race programs for the next 2 weeks will be on the web site shortly.

Hmmm.

The P76 was Car of Year one year.  The V8 version was quick and it handled well for the time.  It was effective.  No shame in being a P76 at all.

Key as a WRX? Not quite so sure about that - thinking he might be more like an Arial Atom, given his speed on Tuesday.

Query - not sledging - whether there needs to be control on people walking across the track.  It is easy to make a mistake and the consequences can be painful.

Kids do dumb things like riding without a helmet or with their helmet undone. Perhaps it is seen to be cool - kids in my street seem to think it is.  Mick was right to blast the kids.
Well, no merger so far....

Dear 2ndwheel,

There is no doubt in my mind as to what my gender is.
Some things are just not able to be overlooked!
I just get sick of being sensible.

I think I will change it back to the long, lean legs.
I kind of miss that one and it was Robbo's favourite.

Spandy.

Was Robbo's fave Spandy, of that you can be certain.

Metro, no one walked onto the track, they were both riding. We usually have a person on the gate to control when epolpe can walk onto the track. Unfortunately this easy job tends to be left undone when Bede is off busy doing the raffle and no one else steps up for a couple of minutes while he is away.

The grandstand was full of spectators on Wednesday night, so hopefully that means we are providing good entertainment (hope they all bought some food & drink from the canteen)

Oh, from what. Had read it sounded like a rider collided with a walker.

Hope the young 'uns recover quickly.
