what is it with skinsuits?
« on: October 24, 2010, 03:24:52 pm »
As some may know, my new work arrangements mean I can not easily race with Hdcc @ Kooragang on Fri nights, so I now race with Central Coast @ North Wyong instead. They have a good point score going down there as well.

One thing I noticed was some of the fitter A and B graders - so not me - were wearing skin suits. My first thought was "WTF do they put in the water down here", but then thankfully heard others chiding the exhibitionists in skin suits, as one would expect.

Until I saw this I thought it was just older folk, like 2nd Wheel, who wear skinsuits to show they have not turned to blubber like their pensioner school chums, but there were young guys, same age as me, wearing just one article of lycra.

I am tempted to give skinsuits a try - I reckon I might get a reaction. What do ya think?
Well, no merger so far....

sourcing a sufficient supply of lycra would pose a fair problem too I would reckon.

It may not be Lycra, but I do have a spare heavy duty tarpaulin (20 X 24ft) you could utilise as you would need material of good anti tear construction.

Just looking to be of assistance...

Metro

Let’s face facts here; you are a much bigger target. Last time i saw you in lycra it was fairly taught and my first impression was that you were wearing a skin suite. Also just because your wife says you look good doesn't make it true ( she may be stroking your ego). ;D ;D ;D

The good thing about a skinsuit is that you only have to pay for one item that can be used both on road and track. When i finally join a club i'll only have to buy one item of clothing to represent the club at opens. Some of us just don't have the mopney to spend on both.

Hey, this is meant to be a bagging of 2ndwheel and Metro ( well every topic is for bagging of Metro)

Just thought I would start with that.

giantcfr1, there are many who are bagged on this site and yet still sponsor teams. I am sure the large one may have a couple of garments with his previous place of employ emblasoned on them that he could send in your direction ...

I was not employed there, well, not for the past 10 years and 11 months...

However, my HW gear was recently binned - all threadbare. Good gear too - lasted for ages.

So, on my current no training regime, I could get a skinsuit and so disclose to the world the true glory on my finely tuned elite athelete's body? This could be a boon to any local business looking for some prime advertising space.

DW - ask your employer, and my client (I guess former client with my imminent retirement from HW) if they are interested. They could simply remove one of the sticker directly off one of their trucks and stick it on my new skin coloured skin suit.

Bad news MC,

2nd wheel has beaten you to the skinsuit. He looked fine. I don't know what the problem is with them.
