Where has The Ferret been?
« on: August 05, 2010, 06:12:55 pm »
Some will have noticed the Ferret has brought his sometimes useful sometimes harsh sometimes  wise and sometimes prejudiced views to this forum.  Anyone have any funny thoughts about where The Ferret might have been?  This is not the first time he has been absent for an extended period.

My thoughts (in no particular order) were  - has he has been overseas (Rob Hadley and Greg Hardes have recently returned from OS, Greg beating my time up Alpe D'Huez - which does not put him in a very exclusive club....); Has he been on a tour in some remote part of the uncivilised world;  Has he been in hiding?

I am sure many out there will come up funnier things than I can.
Well, no merger so far....

Metor,

I cannot shed light on where I have been, but if my mail is correct (and we both know the answer to that) Greg Hardes, the current Cessnock A grade club champion, rode Alpe D'Huez on some bunters town bike. It would seem his exploits overseas have travelled faster than he has. Clydey has already structured the next handicap factoring in his Alpe d'Huez time. Some club handicappers go that extra mile, don't they. Shalom

Ferret

Hopefully you have used your time away wisely, by some self indulgent naval gazing or some heavy pelt grooming. A new improved buffed Ferret now that should make an interesting mental picture for some.

As always
Your concerned fellow forum user.

Could well be the case that someone has been "Giving the ferret a run".

Metro, Crank Yanker, Snedden 94852716, 2nd wheel et al,

Incorrect boys. Let me sum up for you now that there is some knowledge in the cycling community what is occurring locally. The Ferret has been inundated with offers to join the myriad of teams on offer in Newcastle. Those TWI boys can be persistent, but, increase your offer boys. The latest team is poaching hard (Team Lexus/Toyota). The Ferret has withstood the persistency here as well. I'm sorry, but a new kit and a Lexus severely underestimate my value based on current form. Up the ante boys. Dr Brad might have lost The Choker, as the worst kept secret in Newy is that he has already accepted an offer to join Team Lexus.  Dr Brad's team are chasing hard to shore up the team that they have, but with The Choker gone, I'd be wanting at least one x-ray/week on my perfectly formed body.........at least to give some radiographer a thrill, if nothing else. Do not mention Kyle Hughes' name around Active Cycles. He could be the latest recruit for Team Lexus and not fashionable anymore around Ramo.

It is embarrassing, turning up at racing being approached by all and sundry "team manager". Anyway, watch this space. Things are on the move in the Newcastle cycling scene, and........ The Ferret moves with the times. Shalom

Ferret,

If my sources are correct, and we both know the answer to that, you have also been approached to join two other teams - one to join Team Rees Pritchard Kingston, and the other to replace the injured Stoj at Team Mace (and so join your mate Josh).

Can you confirm my sources are correct?

Yours in cycling

Ferret

Once again you overestimate your worth to the Newcastle cycling fraternity. You are never going to worry any team’s meager salary cap, but then again a weasel in an accountant jersey may look appropriate to some.

Team Lexus/Toyota
Ferret,

The Milf may disagree, but as a Lexus is just a Toyota with a hefty price increase, shiny badges and a free car wash, wouldn't you mimply call it "Team Toyota".  Lexus - the car for the man who should be driving a Honda, desires  but an Audi or BMW, but does not wish to be called a w@nker or a ****-a-doodle.

What car do you drive, my learned friend?

Second Wheel,

The accountant jersey is, I told by the man recently called my father, quite flattering.

Cheers

2nd wheel,

It sounds like envy son. Obviously a bottom feeder looking up to credentialled riders such as myself.

Snedden94852716,

Son, I have heard about a recent discussion on the way home from racing last Saturday. Wouldn't it set the cat amongst the pigeons if you were invited to a berth in Team Toyota.......?

Road kill Ryan,

Just stating the facts son. I spent less energy racing last Saturday than deflecting team managers. Shalom.

Metro,

Son, you are becoming more learned as you get slower. It is true, I have been approached by Team Rees Pritchard Kingston and reserve my decision, as with many others. If my mail is correct, it has been put to me that Stoj has been injured most of his adult life........? Team Mace have not offered me a position as the maximum iq they accept is a halfwit. Shalom

Some are glad to see that you have returned. I took this photo of your new wheels to combat the local road conditions. This was taken in Marrickville Sydney so you must have been riding with another club (and were they as friendly as you would have liked).

DW, it's usually referred to as an undesirable fluid discharge.
