Thanks PH-L,

There are some great photos in there.

Particularly liked the one of Contador with Schleck's reflection in his glasses.

Spandy.

Good to see Microsoft no longer considers this site a serious security threat to my perosnal details.

Tour over for another year. Had some good moments and some real tough days. I dont know if it was just me but there seems to be a lot more mountains stages finishing at the end of a 20km descent rather than mountain top.

A highlight was seeing Lance in a long opportunist break after his tour was over.

Highlight for me was seeing him dropped on the Col de Ramez on stage 8 after his crash (on the roundabout) by Team Sky (just about the only time we ever saw them at the front besides starting their leadouts too early),  Passo de Gois 1999 anyone?? Alex Zulle 6min???  (if you don't get the reference look it up) But hey i don't really like him and i'll readily admit that.

Edit: i think that break he was in on stage 16 showed that he never had the climbing form to challenge anyway, ie. if you were challenging for the Tour you shouldn't be struggling to stay with Carlos Barredo and Perrick Fredrigo when climbing

Glad you enjoyed the tour then. Only 12 months till a Lance-free tour for you, count down the days.

Yeah Team Sky did a great job in weakening the legs of some of the supposed the GC contenders, namely their guy!

B grade stuff

Actually Haddo,

San Sebastian on the 31st of July
Tour of Pologne (Poland) starts on the 1st
Tour of Wallonie has just finished
Vattenfall Cyclassics on the 15th
Eneco Tour starts on the 17th

Then we get the Vuelta, the worlds and late season classics (Giro dell'Emilia, Paris-Tours, Giro del Piemonte, Giro di Lombardia etc etc)

So plenty of Lance free racing ;D....................everyone seems to think he is some sort of cycling messiah but if you scratch the surface a bit, then well it all comes out...........................but this isn't the topic to really talk about that.

Sorry EI, I was talking about Le Tour De France in the Le Tour 10 thread, but yes, you are correct, there are some other tours coming up between now the Le tour next year that will also be Lance-free.

So I take it the triathlete gurus on their forum would be most pleased if the tour was run over 21 Time trials and numerous features about bling and componentry.

Thank god for triathletes, they keep shop owners in business!
