outpowered by Metro...?? say its not so commando? lets break that power tap out again I have a point to prove.... My best sprint result was a 2nd in A grade NSW road race:  a long time away from my form of late (1 lap of black Hill before a  full body meltdown :(  )

Thor,

I think Commando has sold the Powertap but should still have the data.  Happy for a retest if someone has a Powertap they'd like to loan - I would expect my peak power would be a little less than it was back then.

My main point was it does not matter if my peak power and torque figures eclipse you.  Firstly I have a lot more mass to move and secondly the way I deliver my power/torque is such that it does not translate in to more acceleration than you.  I could train my ring off and I would lack that "something" that translates in to that high output over a short period.  A true sprinter can always sprint.  A fat powerful numpty (me) can only outsprint less powerful numpties.

Well, no merger so far....

I have to respectfully disagree on that one - I used to be a true sprinter, but since getting back into cycling i really struggle with it, and I have a half decent amount of muscle - not as much as Thor, but enough to look like a sprinter. Although i wonder if having Chronic Fatigue Syndrome affects my sprinting?

So to be a pure sprinter, do you have to be able to come up with great calls like "Lets Dance Boys" moments before running 8th in an 8 up sprint???

Sorry Commando, that is still one of my favourite ever racing stories.
thanks nick
i had almost forgotten that famed moment

also im not a track sprinters ass
the ability to go fast, alone does not make a sprinter, on the road or track
i once apon a time could go fast on the track it was only on the road that i was concidered a sprinter
if i ever get my **** together WATCH OUT!!!
