You told me you were spending quality time with the better half. Must have got a better offer (of beer) again.

Yep, beer was on after an information session for some work issues.

It was then a short trip home to enjoy some more beer (could only have 2 at the work do as I had to drive) and a nice hearty meal.

The there's nothing like watching some romantic television with the bride,, Friday night footy followed by the TDF!

Can you use your frequent driver points for a new car as the Ks must be mounting up on the old girl.

frequent driver points would be a great idea. I would sign up for that!

Another full on weekend for the juniors at the country titles. Jarret and Oenone took their squad down there in a (very full) bus, plus there were the usual other travellers there. Reece and also Mel brought home bronze medals and the others are all showing great signs of the improvement that they are striving for. The biggest improver over the weekend was Shayne Ilgen who was a real protagonist by the last race yesterday arvo. My thoughts on Shane are 'watch this space' he is going really well.

the Waratah Park facility just shows how much we need something like that in Newcastle. The number of under 9, 11, 13 and 15 riders from the other clubs is very impressive. The kids absolutely love that type of circuit and the parents are more than happy for these tiny little people to try the sport in such a safe environment. Bring on the crit circuit at the velo I say!

now for Tuesday night training where a real sprint can be developed. You dont need to own your own track bike folks, we have plenty there for you to borrow. Hope to see plenty of you there.

ahh Waratah park - the last and only time i raced there was state titles about 16 years ago. It was a decent circuit then - I wonder if they've done any upgrades since my time

"nah, f#@ em!, I'm not riding any f#@n scratch race, I'm rooted!" yeah, famous last words Chapman.

The only think that popped quicker than big Gav (was that big Gav?) was my shoulder giving that heavyweight Chappo a push.

Great, I now have a buggered shoulder to match my buggered hip! Is it what they call age?

Robbo - it is old age coupled to a hedonistic and affluent lifestyle and poor genes

Nope - he will remember how you buggered your shoulder pushing the backside of our resident "Bruno", aka "Sven".  These things can scar the minds of children.

Metro

Talking about remembering things, do you remember what happened to your trust track bike and where the velodrome is? Or is it that the track interferes with band rehearsals (no lead singer for a while you will all be lost).  C u Friday night for some sprint work for Saturday.

Yeah, lets hope he and a lot of others make their return to the velo very soon.

The place was under water on Tuesday, but has dried out with yesterday's sun and today's wind. Hence there is no excuse for people to no show.

I have again enlisted the fine services of Mr Ireland and Mr Fenton to man the BBQ, so turn up everyone and get some much needed speed into those slow old roadie legs.

With the Ferret's pouncing return to the forum you may even be treated to a rare sighting of him at the track. maybe team Hillbilly may even turn up in full force, thats if the young bloke is allowed to ride yet. Dont worry about a Doctor's clearance, it's the clearance form the old man that is the hold up. 'You cant ride yet son, you are still faster than me'

Looking forward to a good rollup. Should be a good night.
