Metro

I feel that your track bike must be feeling rather dejected, as you have been a no show on the track for a while now. You need to renew your bike track vows soon as there may be an ungly seperation which will invole the legal fraternity ( and we all know it will end in tears)
keep it rubber side down

Mine is even more so than Metro's it has not had a wheel or pedal turn since the final track night, I will come and do some sessions as I am heading down to RAW in a few weeks, so as soon as I can get over the massive cramp fest that is my legs following the G2T two pedal sprint that I managed to do just before being dropped with 200m to go, I will be there.

I don't think sitting on a bus with my legs bent at all sorts of strange angles is very good preparation for doing a state open, I can't believe they can legally have seats so close together, I physically could not sit in any of the seats of that bus and get my legs to fit.
No longer a Hubbard or a Commuter, just a very naughty boy.

Boostie,

Yes, my legs are a bit crampy today as well,  although thankfully some Endura seemed to prevent cramps.  Jumping straight off the bike, then on the bus, then sitting for 3 + hours is not good for your muscles.  Two Big Macs however did meet my sense of hunger - I hate the empty feeling gels and sports drinks leave in your stomach.

I am still pissing "antifreeze" - must still be dehydrated.

Well, no merger so far....

ah yes the old travel cramps. You need to relax those muscles lads, and you may need some assistance with what you put in the sytem. Use your brains! You were on a bus trip, all Bus trips = BEERS! What other relaxant has the the success rate of beer?

Who organised that bloody bus?! Oh of course, that useless Dot Boy. You lot are a disgrace the the Aussie bloke! get it in your head -
BUS TRIP = BEER!
BUS TRIP = BEER!
BUS TRIP = BEER!
BUS TRIP = BEER!

Robbo,

There was plenty of beer consumed, and I am told plenty of Bundy and Cola (which they sell by the schooner up in Gunnedah).  Some unwell looking people on the start line. Not me, however - I limited my intake, was asleep by 10pm, and woke feeling fine.

Dot Boy did very very well, organising the bus in circumstances where some total penisheads dropped out after having confirmed their committment to the bus and/or accomodation.  Thankfully Dot Boy's agile mind and the calculator on his mobile telefunken allowed him to work it out so the additional impost on the rest of us (as a result of the drop outs by these dropkicks) was minimised. No disrespect intended towards G Troup, who had to drop out but still contributed funds.  Poor Dot Boy went even greyer than he was before the trip, which was and is greyer than me.

Mike Hock was on the bus, delivered some fine DVDs to watch and had his usual ale on entry to the bus.  All up, a good trip.

Well, no merger so far....

Glad to hear all that Metro, I was extremely worried when no beer was mentioned in previous posts.

18 riders on Tuesday night. Thats good numbers considering how cold it was.

Tomorrow night is going to be excellent weather - I have it from the bureau, warm & no wind - so there is no excuse not to head to the track and have a quick tune up of the legs before the CD race on saturday and the invitation on Sunday.

The BBQ will again be in operation so come on over for good company, good training and then a feed & drink afterwards.

It would be great to set a new benchmark in numbers - so how about making a return team Hillbilly!

We were there Robbo.  It was cold, breezy and almost wet.  Des Hart you are not!

There was an incident too.  Newby stuff, slow speed, no one really hurt.  Everyone went home with most of their skin, most of their pride, and, a little bit more experience.

Reminder:  If feeling tired in a paceline do not slow and swing up in the one action.  The correct procedure is to hold your line and when it's safe, drop to the infield, everyone will go around.  If you really feel the need to swing up it needs to be done with suitable acceleration so that no one is going to be above you.

Another tip:  Pay attention to the rider in front so if they do swing up you go up too, rather than running into people, or, falling over as you try sudden evasive actions.

Yeah glad to hear you are OK Big Knob, I was rather concerned when the news came through that you two guys had fallen. I believe young Jack has scored a couple of stiches.

Hillbilly, cold? while the juniors were racing in Canberra the readouts on their computers started going blank which we could only guess was due to the cold. Ed Hoffman's computer was still working and read -4 degrees ambient temp when decending to the river crossing at 65kph and trying to pick the dry line so as not to run over the black ice. Oh well, we parents were enjoying some nice hot coffee and eats from the well stocked canteen whilst soaking up the sun that had broken through where we were.

Now, back to the velo, how come there were only 10 there? this included team Hillbilly! Lucky they turned up or there may have only been Big Knob & Jack! Come on the rest of you, its worth the effort to turn up. Just do it!

Robbo,

I am with you all the way on that one.
I would still be enjoying the coffee and eats if it was positive 4 degrees.

Even though last Tuesday night was cold, it was nowhere near that low.

A portable coffee bar after training?

A portable coffee bar as you put it is definitely on the wish list. Unfortaunately thats where it will probably remain until we find a generous type to provide one.

Shame about the wet track last night, lets hope for dry training on Friday.

On a lighter note, the motor bike heros havent been able to use their jumps after I messed them up last Thursday. If anyone notices these idiots in attendance there please let me know ASAP so we can hunt them out. They are a brave bunch that run like mad when we try to front them.
