monday  - nothing organised

Tuesday - 5.30am - Cnr King & Darby St - hills ride - insanely hard even for an A grade club rider - no bunters
               - 7am /Broadmeadow to Terrace & return (direct) - alt hard week and easy week - no bunters as v technical

Wednesday / 7am / broadmeadow race course to Raymond terrace via Blackhill/Thornton/Duckenfield - A/B grade level - hard

Thursday 7am/B'meadow to Terrace but not every week - Medium pace

Friday ??

Saturday  -shop rides start 7.30am.  One from Hadleys (loop out to Wallsend then home via Sandgate) and one from 2 Wheel (no idea where they go).  Both easy to moderate pace - intended as a recovery ride.

Sunday - most go racing unless too young to race with Vets.

LukeB,

Not sure.  The Tuesday ride had some experienced C graders on it, but be warned that it is ruthlessly policed to ensure a safe and technically correct ride - if I do not take the track bike then I get in trouble for lifting at times....  It is great for improving skills but you need to willing to accept constructive and at times firm advice, but you will be better for it.

I only know of the harder rides not because I excel on them but so I can pretend I know guys who ride much better than I do...

The Sat rides are, I am told (only been on one Hadley shiop ride, and no TWI rides, but know people who have ridden both), good bunch rides.

Just a small clarification: the Saturday Hadleys ride starts at 7:00am, not 7:30am. It's easy pace (avg 26-27km/h), and great to learn from. If you ask questions, you can learn a lot.

This is a great thread - I'd also be interested in any group rides for C/D/E grade.. especially those focussed on skills.

Also I'm curious on the skill training I have been on some bunch rides for the Vikings club in canberra they are very goodand actually have an A or B grade supervising form etc

it doesn't seem to be any squads up here that take you from novice further on up the grades

any information on this ?

There is for juniors with the squad ran by Jarrett / Oneone etc. I am fairly sure the introduction of "skills training" is something that may be implemented if the offroad crit circuit gets the go ahead. If you want some decent skills training, head to the velodrome at Broadmeadow on Tuesdays. 6pm start, $5 entry and loan bikes are available for free. It will teach you many skills that you wont develop on the road and many that will benefit you greatly.

Are you happy with what's available? What sort of group rides do you guys like and what rides do you want that we DON'T have? Brainstorming welcome

If anyone is interested in a ride this afternoon I will be doing a ride Starting at Speers Point roundabout at 4:30 PM that goes out over the weir road Teralba and out to Homesville then Killingsworth, Wakefield, Fassifern, Bolton Pt, Marmong and returning to Speers Pt.

Pace will be mostly easy with a few efforts and some hills.
