Hilljockey,

The Ferret wasn't too bad a runner son. Shalom

Metro,

It's a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, Commuter suggesting you take the last Iced Vo Vo. Insert meat pie feom Wallsend bakery, or any bakery for that matter, and Commuter is on to it.

Haddo/Doyley et al,

Well done boys on flying the flag for the club, even while the crit was on.

Big Steve,

The Ferret notes that you didn't even clean up at the Vets handicap, even after assessing the competition to be pisspoor, but allowing for the fact the crit was depleted due to the tri. If my mail is correct(and we all know the answer to that), a move to HVV could be on the cards to afford you a club championship, something not achieved at HD. The road race would only be an option as Dr Rob (yeah, go Team Windsock)would give you a cold in the TT. Your omission from the start sheet for the kermese confirms The Ferret's theory. Shalom

Commando posts gibberish sometimes, to upset his good school teacher wife.  It is part of their role playing antics, which we should not go in to any further as this site might be viewed by minors...but it may be enough to say there is detention involved.

The Ferret's ongoing whining about the lack of support many HDCC members (and he targetted Big Steve this time, but there are plenty of others) show to its excellent crit races does have merit, IMHO but not for patriotic reasons Ferret promotes.  HDCC happily encourages KOCC members to race Blackhill over winter, so there is in my view a lack of fairness in The Ferret's viewpoint - you can not complain about your members not supporting the races hosted by your club then expect to reap the rewards of encouraging members from other clubs to race somewhere other than with their club.

But I do think, ultimately, that if riders from all clubs do not support the crits then HDCC might decide it is not worth the effort, and then all we have on a Sunday is racing around the goat track at KI, and a handicap at that.
Well, no merger so far....

Sorry i didnt support the crit on sunday but i wanted to compete in the Sparke Helmore Triathlon against a few of my footy mates, and for my own selfish goals and personal challenges. Ill ride it twice next month to make up for it.

How long does a crit at Steel River usually go for - mins & km.?
Are we allowed to urinate in the gardens or on the wheels of parked cars?

20 or more mins + 3 laps depending on grade and time other races have taken, km travelled depends on how fast you ride it ;) generally A / B do 40+ km/h average speeds.

No using gardens as toilets is not allowed you might find that you get a fine and a ban from racing, however you might be allowed to urinate on the left rear wheel of your car as long as you keep your right hand on the car (used to be in British road rules, not sure if we adopted it here however) I am sure Metro can confirm this ;)

Interesting that the attendance record of HD members to its races is an issue for a KOCC member.

For the record the instance of HD crits being held on a weekend when junior and I are away at state Junior races last year was quite often. This is just the way it happens sometimes, as was the case on the weekend with Armidale's non state race and them requesting some support for their race (which was a cracker) as the Bullens have supported some of our races on the velodrome. Also for the record, Mark Bullen is working on obtaining further sponsorship for the race next year where he may even be able to provide paid accomodation and other benefits for teams to participate. I guess they have some half reasonable cyclists up there too, Mitch Bullen is there and a bloke called Peter MacDonald won it last year. Funny green & Gold kit he was wearing - being the reigning National Road Race Champion at the time.

Robbo,

If you read my post I was agreeing with what Ferret had said but not why he was saying it, and making the point that if the crits are not supported by members of all clubs than HDCC might decide it is not worth holding those crits.  Don't see any reason why I should not comment, and in any event if this merger I will join HDCC at the beginning of the next licence year and would hope some of my KOCC friends might follow as well.

Metro,

Good on you son. You've seen the light. Good to see you post for yourself too. If my mail is correct (and we both know the answer to that) you still post for yourself, and that is after you busted the frame acquired through my mate Commando.

Big Steve/Commando,

Just because Commando has to replace 3 frames a year for you does not mean you own him. He should not have to act as intermediary. Certainly, your spelling couldn't be as bad as his, even if you post in Kiwi Inglesh/Sheep shagger language. Shalom

Robbo,

Sorry - I took that as criticism.  I might be a little over-sensitive at times...

Too ill to race last night - in bed by 7pm.

You are confusing sensitivity with shear terror at what was hanging out of the car.
