Maxis Re Fuse, the only way to go. A bit heavier than the average tyre, but are 'Gang proof. In my experience anyway.

Can't wait till Metro gets some to witness his epic finish!!  :D

Hey DW, it was good to meet you too.

A young fit bloke doesn't fit the portly, florid, mustachioed Walrus I thought you must be.

Riding with Todd must make you a Maitland local?  Maybe we could get a training ride organised some time?  Spokey is always keen and the domestique needs to ride more (especially when his dad can beat him).

Conti ultra sport kevlars are pretty much impossible to puncture when you cut the bead off them and put them under a Vittoria rubino :P

I had a nasty cut in the rubino and my conti was worn out so being the scrooge I am I fitted it as a liner, you can ride it at 80 psi and it's as hard as a one of the tyres would be at 120 psi, this is on my training bike where I don't care about fast tyres just want it to go for a long time without punctures and get a lot of km's out of the tyres.

Being close to the 3 digits on the scales means I wear and break things quicker than someone less gravity challenged.
No longer a Hubbard or a Commuter, just a very naughty boy.

I have moved away from the rubino's as you say they don't wear well, for my training bike I am using a zafiro I have had it on for a bit and it seems it will last a while, only had one puncture with a bit of wire that got through.

I have some maxxis columbiere's that I will be using on the trainer for wet races once I wear out the conti ultra sports, from the reviews I was reading the columbiere's have very good grip in the wet, the ultra sports are pretty grippy in the wet as well, they are sort of like the poor mans gp4000 in performance.

Boosty,

Have you seen Commando lately son. I was in his shop about a fortnight ago and I'm here to tell you, he wouldn't know first hand about the wear of racing or training tyres of late. Shalom

Commando,

Have you been on the Lemon Detox Diet?  Less fat is good.

I have heard quite positive things about TTK's ride last Saturday with Ross H @ the 12 Hour. Why not start training for you entry in that event next year?\

HJ,

I am from the Toronto area but work at Thornton and used to ride around Maitalnd before they did the road works for the new bridge. Todd is going in the Ironman triathlon at the end of this month. 12 + hours. The training would be good for you but the race can only take years off your life.

He told me that he was riding Sat mornings from Green Hills to Newcastle and back with Tony Wilson & some serious A+ grade standard cyclists. The pace is high and becomes a race near Newcatle and Green Hills.

I may not be training much outside for a while. I don't like riding in the dark. So I bought a computrainer last week.(Sorry Commando maybe new bike next year). It is similar to riding up until a 15 degree slope when it gets a bit clunky.

...some serious A+ grade standard cyclists...
Do we have ANY of those in these parts?  ::) Until Thor returns, the answer may be "no". :D

DW,

In terms of riding in the dark, have you tried doing it the dark with really good lights?  I ask only because if your experience is with commuter style blinky lights, or older lights like the Vistalite set, things have improved.  Happy to show you my Ay-ups, and there are much brighter lights than those available now.
