Ferr'et,

Not sure you'd get many more starters in those circumstances - many who now race only at Paradise Hills would simply cease to race.  Rightly or wrongly, but some people are scared by crits (yesterday's accident will not assist that, although what happened could happen in a road race, crit or in training) and some people simply lack the physical conditioning, or think they lack the physical conditioning, to race at Black Hill (or as the local indigenous people call it, Place of Punctures and RedNecks).  You still need what some might call a Numpty Course - one that people are not intimidated by.

FWIW, I punctured on Firday night, and as a front wheel puncture in the middle of that mess heading up to the bridge it is not a whole lot of fun moving from the front to the rear of a quick moving pack - lucky I have never race triathalon or I might have fallen ;D

As I repaired my flat tyre A grade came through (I did take my time) and the noise they put out as they crossed that terribly rough surface was a surprise.  Mark this post - we will have increased frame, fork and wheel failures if we keep racing at KI.  Next time you race there glance down at your forks as you cross that section.

Well, no merger so far....

Metro or Ferret, you guys seem to have your finger on the pulse of most things within cycling in this region. Can you tell me if either KOCC or HVVCC have made efforts to look at rectifying the issue of the run up to the bridge. From what I understand it is a complex issue.

Ferr'et,
Next time you race there glance down at your forks as you cross that section.

I think that some of the A graders are already far too pre-occupied with their forks Metro!

Please don't encourage them further.

It is complex. Most of the roads on KI are not Public roads under the Roads Act 1993, but "private" roads on land owned by a Minister of the NSW Government - that is, they are not roads that we as members of the public are entitled to use, and they are not Crown land that members of the public can use.  Newcastle Port Corp, which manages the roads on behalf of the relevant Minister, can kick us off at any time.

The NSW government would love to give the "roads" to Newcastle City Council but that will not happen until it is resealed.

If we complain the "roads" are dangerous the easy thing for the Port Corp to do is kick us off - a lot less expensive than resealing.

Thank you for incitec, Port waratah Coal Services and the other owners/tenants, who have sponsored races, licensed land for the three clubhouses or just tolerated us being there.

Metro,

There are many Numpty Courses frequented by several local cyclists. They are called coffee shops. Too much time is spent at these establishments with individuals extolling how good they used to be or who they beat recently.............while their bikes lean against the wall. You all need to harden up

Ferret,

You do speak the truth - every one who partakes of the Ferret Chai seems to be going backwards - The Chai Lord, Wayne Swan, Noodles, Di2 Boy, the list goes on and on.

You might organise an intervention. Bring your hard arsed friends.  The address for 3 Beans is Off Lindsay St
Cessnock NSW - wear something sexy.

Metro,

That is the Cessnock Correctional Centre you peanut. Anyone with a bit of ink (I don't have enough yet) like Rosie or Matt Augutis or the new Gai Monahan would go ok at CCC wearing something sexy. Well, two out those three would..........but I choose not to digress like you Metro. Just harden up son. If you spent as much time on your bike as you did this forum, you might at least finish C grade. Shalom

I know that - I have been there a few times, and thought you might be popular with some of the inmates.  Little agro mouthy guys are really popular amongst the liberty deprived.

Metro,

You are assuming I am little, you assume I am agro, and you assume I am mouthy. That is my chameleon-like character in A grade son............no one has any suspicion I could be The Ferret. You included. Shalom

Ferret (he who is small, mouthy and agrro),

Your posts display aggression and establish you are mouthy.  Both attributes of those  tend to be what people with Small Man Syndrome exhibit - perhaps more of a Jack Russell than an Irish Wolf Hound.  All reasonable conclusions.  That does not narrow things down much, though, as there are plenty of aggressive, mouthy small men in cycling.

MC (he who is not small, not usually mouthy and not aggro except in a long queue at McDonalds)

Spandy,

You probably have one of those in your bed...........complete with teeth!!

Metro,

Like the fishing expeditions previously observed on this forum, son, you could be related to Luke Warmwater and his brother Tepid. All assumptions son. Stick to the facts. When one is involved with the law in such a manner that I am, one doesn't assume. Shalom
