Ferret,

Your luke warm/tepid line is rolled out with the same mundane predictability as "sram red sucks" after an A grade race
Well, no merger so far....

Metro,

Son, most of this town aspires for mediocrity. Some of them don't even achieve that. I know that everyone possesses a variety of motivational triggers and some prefer just to ride........but I am referring to half of A grade. Soft. Look at the sprint last Friday night......

Boys,

The Ferret will be riding around Kooragang, having entered the kermesse, performing some psyche analysis on the Sydney riders. For example:

The Ferret (TF): G'day son
Sydney Person with two Heads (SPWTH): mumble, mumble
TF: Great day for it
SPWTH: Great day for what...?
TF: Breeze in the hair (obviously I can't have this discussion with Big Steve), sunny day, and the local club have done an amazing job of patching the road. You should have seen it before.
SPWTH: Do you think the course is suitable for these Zipps?
TF: Are you rich? Do you own a bike shop? Are you a solicitor? Do you know the sound carbon makes as it disintegrates?
SPWTH: Yes. No. Yes. No
TF: Son, I run with these 36H wheels for integrity.....given my weight, and  am lighter than you.
SPWTH: Are we on the course now? WTF.........
TF: What number are you son? I just want to make sure I am not behind you when something fails. Have a good day.........
SPWTH: Tootle Pip
TF: You want to "Harden the fkuc up son". This is Newcastle Pave

Ferret - substitute Sydney person with the Milf...he seems to have followed Di2 Boy's lead and acquired some new Zipps.

Metro,

Just what Newy cycling needs. More state D graders rolling around on Zipps. Great......

Metro,

That is because their discretionary spend is exhausted on Iced Vo Vo's. Shalom

Ferret

Being an ex-Sydney lawyer who does not (yet? every man and his dog seems to) own a bike shop, I have the good sense to feed my Iced Vovo addiction by purchasing them through my practice - so yes, a tax deductible addiction.  So it is not discretionary spend - it is a business expense.

Zipp wheels seem to be on every second set of wheels.  If I want exclusivity I may have to get Lightweights.  Have to ask Dodgy Hadley how much he can get them in for me.  Now that would be a delightful label to have on my bike...Lightweight on the second heaviest rider in C grade or above (I expect I might not be the second heaviest rider across all the grades).  Thankfully Big Gav is around!

Metro,

I've observed your form of late and strongly suggest you do not acquire lightweight wheels. You should harness your discretionary spend toward Iced Vo Vo's, with the idea that if you consume enough of them, they will provide a performance effect. That is your only hope. Shalom
