A warning to all that use Adobe Reader or Acrobat, there is a major security issue that affects all versions of Reader and Acrobat for all operating systems, download the latest updates to fix the issue.

Summary
Adobe has confirmed a critical vulnerability in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.2 and earlier versions that could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. There are reports that this vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild. Adobe recommends customers follow the mitigation guidance below until a patch is available.

Adobe plans to make available an update to Adobe Reader and Acrobat by January 12, 2010 to resolve the issue.

Acrobat 9.0 users can use auto update or download the patch here to get the 9.3 update.

It appears that users with earlier versions of Acrobat will have to buy the upgrade to 9.x or you could install the Adobe Reader and use that for untrusted PDF files and use Acrobat for your own and trusted files.
