Can we also add in track training on Tuesday evening?  I know it is not in a true sense racing, but everytime I was on there it was for all purposes a race!  It might also be a slightly more intro to track than the actual race.
Well, no merger so far....

Looks like it is not raining on the beaches

Radar shows it the easterly keeping it away.

Correct Mr Boostland.  No rain, just wet and filthy.

It was wet and filthy but good racing nonetheless. However, I managed to deck it on the way home. Damn railway tracks just past the roundabout. Thanks to the guys who stopped to pick me off the ground. Injuries are superficial, and more importantly, the bike seems ok. Great preparation for Sunday's Highland Fling.

Such is life.

Took me an hour to clean my bike and myself off.  No need for coal tar soap!

Great race in C grade, although that final corner brought out some unique cornering lines!

Boostie,

Those tracks, especially the first set as you come home, are nasty.  I have not been brought down by them - yet, touching wood (which is quite different to a woodie, I am told by Felix) - but they seem to be especially free of friction.  The next big thing in cycling after now passe' ceramic bearings might be "Kooragang Rail bearings"...

It is funny (not hahh hahh funny, but quirky funny) that the two sets of rails on the actual course are a non-event, and the same rail lines heading out to racing are also a non-event, but coming home the some rail lines seem slippery.  Perhaps it is the angle, the bumps around the rail, and the buildup of crud combine to make them a satans brew for cyclists.

How did you go in The Fling?  I did the inaugral Fling as part of a team (Matthew Smith and Rich Woodall) and I think we came second or third.  It was a good event, and nice to be woken at 6am by a Scottich piper.

Dr Rob was also riding in the Fling - did you see him?
Well, no merger so far....

that is quite strange now that you mention it, havent seen a crash before even though they are where most of us are still lent over when entering that corner, even when wet...

whats the bet that i bin it on them next time its wet... ??

The 'Fling on Sunday was good. I was a bit sore, and somewhat underprepared, but it all went reasonably ok. I showed up with a goal of making it in 6 hours. That all went out the window when I had to double back for 8km to help a guy who had stacked big time over some waterbars and was reportedly unconscious. By the time I got back to him he was ok (apart from his two nasty broken wrists). So there went almost an hour. He ended up getting choppered out. I lost more time performing chain surgery on a bloke who had busted his brand new chain and had no powerlinks with him. By then I felt more like Mavic Neutral Service than an enduro rider. So, I just got home in the best shape I could. 7:15 or thereabouts.

Feeling alright today, should be able to make Tuesday night.

Dr Rob

I will not be @ Track tonight - work and family.  May get to race on Wednesday, however.

Shame you lost so much time helping others.  Your should accept the advice of Dr Rudi:

Look at the car and number plates, and the book that Dr Rudi reads out.  Could not catch a glipse of the make of road bike.

Commuter,

While not gender specific, Dr Rudi also has some dieting advice for you (apologies for the blatant sexist overtone of the clip):

This Dr Rudi has much better advice than Dr Philth, at least his weight loss tips are given from someone that is not obese themselves.

Great night of track racing, plenty of riders and some decent races and well run.

Good to see Metro came along and had some races, he showed some quite impressive speed, B grade better be on the lookout for when the inevitable upgrade for him comes.

Boostie,

Too kind.  Much to learn before I would be comfortable in B grade.  I am OK when out in front, still have to learn how a track bunch moves.  But it was fun, and very well run indeed.
