Well Metro,

I did finish both my races again on the weekend. You will note that despite not looking like figuring in the C grade sprint yesterday, I still had time for chat with you on the way. Have you any more gears that we could adjust your SS machine with for KOCC races? One less tooth on the back could put you right in there I reckon. Bring it in to Friday night training (weather permitting) and we can work on that if you think it could help.

Thank heavens that Kenny Hatch is taking off to the Masters races shortly, life will be less painful without him in my races for a short while at least.

Hillbilly, what happened son? I would have thought you and the pretend Stig would have had some team bullets to fire in that race. Did you notice the throw on the line to just pip you for 110th place? Things happen fast after free wheeling for the last 700m aye!

Well done there Robbo, much better than I did in my one attempt at racing (well not really racing just surviving as long as I could might be a better term).

I was speaking to Metro about ratio's he has some other front chain rings that he can fit that would give him a more appropriate gang gearing, 48 x 16 is a tad too small for a flat course like that when you have a big powerful commuter like him pushing it.

Robbo

Are you doing some secret training with Junior that we don't know about.(Or has Mrs Robbo decreed that you are better out of the house than in.)

Metro is basking in his new found SS hard man status.(he hasn't gone this good in years, maybe more than 1 gear confused him.)

Chi Lord racks up a win and restores his bruised and battered ego after a run of DNF's (in doing so the Milf is bridesmaid again)

2nd Wheel,

Chai lord was as happy beating the Milf as winning the race - but Milf did get above thrid place, which is a new feeling for him.

This hardman status is getting a little tired - while no doubt good for me, it is tiresome spinning my ring off every down wind leg of a race, and then not having enough of a gear to get past people I know I can beat.

Robbo,

I was very impressed with your fitness and form yesterday.  There were, as always, a bunch of no-turn bludgers at the back but you were not amongst them.  B grade beckons.

Correct, but I need a longer chain, and I keep hoping I will get a road bike (ie one with gears) before racing each weekend and so not have to add links to the chain on the trackie.  But if I have to wait much longer then I may weaken and put a bigger gear on the front.

I will probably tough it out another week, as I think it is very good for me to have to spin and think in a race.  Doubt I will win, but imagine how shameful it would be for those in Vets C grade if I were to beat them in a sprint on such a small gear!  I am having fun chasing people down and general shite stirring in the race.

Metro

I'm sure i could find you a 52 tooth chainring. 52x27/16 = 87.75in gear. Also to lengthen chain just add a piece of 1/8th chain ( i have some of that as well) with additional track link, that way you do not need a chain breaker.

I train on the velodrome with this.

Robbo, never even knew the break had gone till too late.  Well, maybe I could've sacrificed myself to bridge the Stig over...

Not thinking clearly obviously.
