Masso,

Are you responsible for this multi sprint event?
I'm sure there are tactics for this event. I'm sure my usual let a strong group get too far infront then try to catch may not be the answer.

I like a point’s race, but usually don’t have stamina for more than 1 sprint

If you are not a strong sprinter my advice would be to stay near the front during the sprint but don't sprint to take any points, then as they slow to recover then attack them. Try to take a couple of others with you.

Masso - stop giving DW hints - he put both of us in his freezer!

DW,

Like The Ferret, I like to teach.

My completely unbiased advice to you is that you ride on the front as much as you can, except just near the start finish line where you should politely move to the windward side to allow me to tap it through to win each of the sprints. I will then wheelsuck for the lap that follows, so just ease it up to the bridge in case I am tired after the sprint - keep the pace down to about 25 kph as well, just in case . If anyone other than me tries to get in front of you, please organise one of your friends to chase them down for us.

Oh, it would help if you put on a bit of weight before Saturday, as I find with your quite low position you are not as good as Masso and Commuter to wheelsuck behind.

Finally, watch out for riders who have been dropped early in the race, including from other grades.  Di2 Boy, Chai Lord and The Choker are likely candidates.

Looks like I don't need to change my tactics.

Masso,

You are out the freezer?  Do you get out of the freezer when you fail to finish a race?  If so, can I draw on the many many DNFs I have had in the past 2 years that were not equip issues?  Is it like Frequent Flyer points, perhaps called "Frequent Failure Points"?  While it seems we are coming out of the GFC, I would like to get some benefits accrued during the GFC.

DW rode a smart race today.  I left before the results were known - who won what?

You came 3rd.

DW,

Yes, I found that out when I raced yesterday.  I left as I did not think I would place and Kim Seldon needed to get home quickly for work.  I made the error of not contesting the first sprint, and was annoyed at myself thereafter. Head was not in gear for the remainign sprints. I take it Stephen Browne was 1st and you were 2nd?

I came second yesterday in a bunch sprint, and it was (I was told) close between 1st and 2nd.  I hit that pothole about 30m from the finish hard enough to dislodge my spares bidon (better than deviating from my line in a bunch sprint) and a "snake bite" puncture to the rear wheel, and put the rear wheel out of allignment. So my winnings will go on a wheel true and tube...it was a good race, albeit quite "soft" for the most part.

MC,

How many more results do you think you need to go to B grade?
How do they judge it?
