Any Longer Races?

Hi,

I am only very new to the local racing scene (low grade and very ordinary to boot), but I was wondering if there are any special events throughout the year that people aim to be in peak form for?
Are there any longer races (i.e. more than an hour or so) scheduled throughout the year with any of the local clubs? (i.e. true road race rather than a Kermesse/Crit)
Also, are there any events which have more than the normal 20-30 starters at once (I'm not sure of the terminology, but I think mass-start may be the idea I'm thinking of).

Most clubs hold longer races during the cooler months, State Opens are on most weekends once the road season starts.  Check Cycling NSW website.  Others are B2B at Bathurst and V2B at Pokobin.  60 or 100km.

Gunnedah to Tamworth seems to be a mid-year favourite with the locals. 107km from memory, although no hills to split a bunch in the lower grades. Kooragang club takes a bus to this one so if you're not one to worry about logistics and would prefer to just pay someone to do the organising for you, this is a winner.

Anyone around these parts doing the B2B this year?

As far as I know, Team WAKI Merida are heading down, Team WAMM have a few members heading down, & a handfull of other local riders will be there. Not all the riders heading down will do the longer event, 110km, some will do the 70km event from what I know.

A few of us from the team are going down to B2B. I can't say which team as it might divulge too much about me and my new Merida...........?
