There continues to be riders in both clubs missing out on the racing they need due to the continued 'softpedalling' on this issue. There are some who cant get on with certain people from the alternate club, where if they were to be truly honest with themselves, they could say the same about some within their own club - thats life people! we cant get along with everyone, it doesnt mean we have to run different clubs because of this.
Someone said to me at a Cycling meeting tonight that he knows of riders who regularly speak of some 'mongrel' who cut them off, or bumped them out of line in a race 40 years ago. They still dont talk due to this. While this kind of crap continues amongst those of us who are within this minority sport, what bloody hope have we got. Get over yourselves softpedallers, we can get something going here that could be unreal. Think of it, a true off road circuit, an off road crit circuit, and then hopefully a couple more, with some fully lit for night racing AND night training. Proper club houses, meeting rooms....COFFEE MACHINES!!!! Pipe dreams? I know some of them are NOT! but it will be a lot easier for those of us trying to get it to happen if we are all batting with the SAME FCKING BAT!
I have been a member of both clubs, and they are both good clubs. But we could have a GREAT club if they merged. The minute (which unfortunatley will happen) that a rider gets bumped by a truck during a race on Paradise Hills, it will be the end of all racing there. Please lets not wait till that happens before we realise we need to act.
