I am here, watching, waiting, anticipating.
I find I need to be at the front or in the front few.
There are cyclists that will sprint every time. Kevin Murray, Skillen, 2nd wheel (if you can keep up) that you need to be with or just behind.
Even when I take off first I find it better than waiting for someone else to do something. I don't seem to respond as quickly and let them get too far infornt.
It seems everyone can sprint in B grade, or at least faster then me. So positioning is even more crucial.
If I train hard I think I am 1 year off being competitive in B grade anyway so I am not too worried about the endings. It is good to sit in and see how the endings unfold.
I am focusing on getting strong during the race.
I did the loop the lake yesterday in training for this Sunday. That is the furthest I have ridden. I want to do the 88km in 2hrs 30min = 35.2km/h.
Yesterday I averaged 34km/h. Hopefully adrenaline might get me up.
It is depressing how undulating the ride is. Up & down until Belmont.
