It was fast. Thankfully the wind slowed the group down at the bridge and on Woodchip. But around the witches hat and the corner after the bridge the acceleration was frenetic. It felt like my legs could spin that fast.
MC's cunning plan of asking me a question so I lose focus & get dropped off the back almost worked.
Staying up the back does not pay.
Big Gav was a casualty. The pack slowed quickly just after the bridge but he didn't. He ran up the back of Noel Brommage, the noise of the bikes was not good.
I reckon the cross wind could have taken out a lighter rider if already off balance. Luckily MC is a well balanced cyclist.
But it was a good race and it showed me how much more work is required.
