the prima donas (HDCC) have acquired an additional (and waterfront!) Clubhouse on Kooragang Is,...... My sources tell me it is located towards the end of the same straight the KOCC and HVCC clubhouses are located, just south of the bridge.
Looks to me like HDCC sees KI as the place to be...

but the flying variety.
The current clubhouse is just before the bend where we used to have that lovely bird near the turn-around
And I think the other maggie a little north of the clubhouse of the club of champions (!) is still about.
Sounds rather too close for comfort by your description MC.
