When I am driving with my wife and kids and a see a cyclist I observe how much effort they are putting in. If they are taking it easy I get my 5 year old to yell at them (with the window up) "Push it!!!!!"

Also, whenever I see the exposed hardwood timber on house cladding, decks, windows or horizontal slats on screens etc I tell my wife it will be grey and old in 6 months. She is getting sick of that. But it is always true, no one maintains hardwood.
