It would be a stupid thing to do as the road surface is not smooth and there is no room there for cyclists on the road but there is a perfectly good path that is protected from the road by a fence on the southbound bridge.

That's the problem the path is NOT perfect. It is poorly designed to access it requires a hard left turn and a drop down. Additionally the path is always covered with glass and other debris and runs short of connecting with the access road to Hungry Jacks.

If this track was repaired and more cycle friendly it may tempt more riders to use it.

P.s. I would always select this option when riding solo, rarely have I ever been in a bunch that chooses to use that path! (due to it's lack of suitabilty!)
