Cycling Chat & Info / Re: BORING NEWCASTLE CYCLING

SO TRUE, Simply Red.

This Newcastle Cycling Forum has become so boring that when I checked it this morning, i didn't even notice that there was a recent entry.
I have become so used to zero imput.

Unfortunately for me, I am not one of the CHOSEN ONES/BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE and I only can read the Facebook stuff using  someone else's account here at home.  One of the advantages of having children.  But it is a one way street, I am not allowed to do anything but read on this FB account.

And there are times when I would have liked to add my opinion.

At least this forum doesn't require anything to join - just apply for registration, no matter who you are or which club you are with.
Have you noticed that there is no real  female participation on FB apart from juniors or women who are not riders.  Maybe, that is why the men/boys like to use FB- Simply Red and I are not stirring the pot like we sometimes do here. Also, Central Coast women contribute more equally on their forum than what I see on HD's FB.

Elefunksoup must have been disappointed that there was so little commotion when he queried which Newie club to join.

As I can't participate in Kooragang racing much at present due to shop committments, and also because I am getting better (and supportive)  track/crit racing/training further south I miss out on the Newcastle scene - except for the one-sided entries on FB,

marto ,its me again ...As I am over 30(or is that 45)the vets is the club for me but as for what other club  in newie ,that can be a big questionI
f you are an Aor B grade rider you would probably want to join HD as they are very strong in this grade .When it comes to the bottom grades there isn t as many riders (other than friday night racing at the gang ,when riders from all clubs race regularly)sometimes C and D combine such as at the criteriums.
The Kooragang club are a good club for alround riding always a race doesn t matter what grade your in they are very friendly and they also go away to a few race meets as a club (bus trip wise).Who knows maybe one day these two clubs may merge to form a very large and strong newcastle cycling club

I'm only new here, but I am a bit surprised about the low level of discussion. I'm used to this:

Thanks. Have decided on HDCC. Have gone to a few Tuesday night track sessions in 2011. Hopefully much more frequently in future.
