Today was a most satifsying result. There had been breaks throughout the race but nothing lasting very long. It was quite windy.
On the last lap I saw Spokey go just before the bridge and I thought the chances of staying away with a triathlete were good. I had checked his Maitland triathlon January race time this week and knew he had the form. (Hilljockey you would be under 1hr if you botherd training.)
So I sprinted up the ramp and found it was just Spokey & I. We road together for the rest of the race and had a healthy gap. That gap closed a lot over the last 1km but we managed to finish just before the pack.

Thanks for the wrap DW. I enjoyed riding with you today too. You were strong and proved your not only a sprinter. Well done, won't be long and your back in B grade  ;)

Just so it doesn't get blown out of proportion!

I had been solo off the front for last half of the final lap. My legs just weren't strong enough to make it to the line. The sprint caught me 50m from the line. I pulled into the gutter and continued to pedal to the line holding my line and as much speed as I could.

Other rider, sprinting for 10th place! yelled out as he had not been looking in front of him only down at the ground.

As I understand it you have got to be in a sprint to sit up in a sprint!

No harm done  :)

DW are you going to be a team player through and through and share the reward with the team? A can of coke at the finish will do for me and I'm in!!

P.S. If I can make it.

If I have SS at Kooragang I would ride a 48-14, but the 48-16 was good for getting up the hills at Blackhill.

I don't know too much about gear ratios, but I think your on the right track. There was a guy on a SS in C grade at Vets today. He rode well but looked like he was spinning out at times! He did comment it was hard to get to the front, but maybe that was a ploy! :D

Eat more Vovo's?  ;)

You rode well Metro on the SS, Maybe gears are over rated! You even finished the race puncture free, congrats.

It was good to race on an undulating course for a change.

Ferret,

How did you go on the weekend? I have read your sledging of many others for getting out there and having a go, did you turn up or are you covering up your performance?

Regards

Spokey :)

Kero is the go for the big clean, then maintain with "King of Lubes, Liquid Gold"

In my opinion!
