My understanding is that you need a clearance from your previous club to state that you are free of any fines or suspensions.  This was how it used to work, not sure if it still applies.

No you don't need to be invited, invitational means everyone is welcome.  No club shirt needed.

I spoke to Masso this morning.  He is sore, disappointed but in good spirits.  He asked that his and Deirdre's thanks be passed on to all who helped in any way.

Don't get too carried away DW, no one has to look under the skinsuit.

A noble suggestion Metro, but people still need to work out how to win.  If one does not possess a sprint, that is the aspect of their training that they need to work on.  Too many of the strong, non sprinters continue to do long hard training rides while neglecting speed intervals.  To improve you must work on your weaknesses.  My hit out at 500m to go on Friday was not really aimed at winning, more at a speed endurance interval effort.  Looked pretty impressive though and made some others rethink their strategy.  Try different things and don't become predictable.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Metro, obviously not going out in the rain has left you with too much time to think!  The best results will come from quality training time rather than long rides with little effort.  There is a need to build some base, but I am always amused by those who feel a need to continue long rides through summer when only racing 25 - 40km.  Like you I am racing Friday nights, most Sundays and the track on Wednesday.  One other 30-40km ride on top of this.  I think I'm goiing OK.  Attitude has a lot to do with it.  For we older folk, rest and recovery is an important part of training

Well done Joe on signing up with Trek Livestrong for next year.  Great to see your dedication and efforts rewarded.  Good luck Curly, Mick would be extremely proud.
Pity the Newcastle Herald put a photo of Ebbo instead of Curly.

Commuter, is that a bit of bragging, "riding slowly over the bride", or a typo? :o

I take into account the time of day and the amount of traffic.  It can be dangerous trying to use that lane if there's too much traffic.  If we expect the RTA to provide us with bike lanes, my opinion is that we should use them when they are there.  I'm not sure where you would stand legally if you were hit using the merge lane.
