Training & Group Rides / Pancake Ride Tues 21 Feb
« on: February 12, 2012, 07:20:46 pm »
Tues 21 Feb being Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) I propose a ride followed by pancakes.

Route: This scenic Newcaslte Ride on Bikely looks good. 26km loop.

Start: Corner Parkway & Memorial Drives (just before 16 on the map). Plenty of parking for those who need it.

Time: 5.45pm

Pace: Social

Finish: St John's Church Cooks Hill (cnr Darby & Parry) at 7pmish for Pancakes - $15 gets you glass of wine, tea/coffee, port and of course, lots of pancakes.

Should be fun. Brings lights for the trip home.

Feel free to come only for pancakes/only for the ride.

Post if you're coming so I can give a rough idea of numbers.

Sally

Well my only experience so far of HDCC is tuesday night velo training, which isn't exclusively HD anyway. But I'm a happy trackie. Just need to get a handle on regular road training rides or a couple of road buddies (hint, hint).

I'm only new here, but I am a bit surprised about the low level of discussion. I'm used to this:

Thanks. Have decided on HDCC. Have gone to a few Tuesday night track sessions in 2011. Hopefully much more frequently in future.

Hi Gai. Thanks for your reply. A couple of reasons to join a club "up north". CCCC aren't a great club for track (tho they've been great in other ways). Also I'd like to have local club members to train with during the week with and a crit course i could ride to.

Other opinions? :-)

Cycling Chat & Info / which club?
« on: November 30, 2011, 11:35:03 am »
Hopefully this will stir up some debate! I'm moving up to newcastle (from the central coast) and I'd like some advice on which club to join - Hunter District or Kooragang? My preferred racing is track and crit. Thanks all...

Training & Group Rides / Toukley cyclist looking for training buddies
« on: September 12, 2011, 02:17:37 pm »
Hi all, I moved to the central coast at the start of this year and I'm still looking for people to ride with. I'm pretty flexible as to times and days, I'd just like to be able to meet up within about 10k of Toukley. Look forward to any replies. Sally.
