I think you can borrow bikes, but I'm not the authority on that one.

Friday night's "Winter Heat" to start in a few weeks. I'm looking forward to it.

I thought they got rid of Masters 1. When I renewed my licence this year the only option was Elite.

Elite licences allow you to enter both categories, provided one exists. Perhaps that's up to the race organiser.

I raced two CD events last year in illegal kit without sanction, not sure how you'd go at a larger race.

We should get one of those mobile coffee vans to come along.

Are there still any Saturday training sessions going? I'm keen to get some longer efforts/motorpacing.

I've got the Dennis Blunden Memorial Wheelrace trophy at my place. One this exam is out of the way (1 week) I'll bring it along to a Tues or Wed night. Hell, I might even bring my bike.

Cycling Chat & Info / Re: KOCC - stay or transfer to HDCC?
« on: January 28, 2011, 03:52:43 pm »
I'm looking to transfer from KOCC to HDCC, mainly because I am very grateful of the efforts that go into the training and racing at the velodrome. (I am aware that means I may actually have to turn up and race now and then seeing that I'm back in town).

Is it as simple as just turning up at a HDCC race (early) and signing up, now that my licence has expired? Or is there a bit of paperwork involved to be 'transferred' from one club to another? I have the option to simply renew online but the CA website doesn't have an option to switch clubs.

Hope to see you all back out there soon. Rob.

A Bianchi with Campag? Cool. You'd better read this then:

Yes it is me. Work commitments took me to Tamworth with two weeks notice until January 2011.

Long days, cold mornings, and lots of excuses have conspired to keep me off the bike. Until now.

I'll be back.

Local club is HMBA - they race at Awaba once a month. Tracks are always open to be ridden.
Website - http://www.hmba.asn.au/

There are a lot of groups that ride together in places like Glenrock, and also areas less well known. These can vary from social rides to 100-milers.
A mate of mine runs a local blog that is worth checking out. He's an A grader with the mtb club, and a keen trail-builder. http://pi11wizard.wordpress.com/

Some of the HMBA A graders work at Gateshead cycles, it'd be worth going in there.

Hope this helps.

I'm considering heading down this Friday night, depending on how stressed I am with study, and how sick I am of it.

Anyone else going?

What's the call for tonight? Not much on the radar but it's coming down pretty consistently in Redhead.

From the RAW forums - looks to be starting June 11. Details to follow.

I'll be heading down when I can, work and exam prep permitting. I'll have one/two spaces in the car (bikes on roof if it's dry).

Yeah great coverage by SBS and wow, what a finale! Literally had me on the edge of my seat. I had recorded it as I'm working nights, so I had to drive home and not listen to the news, or go near the internet until I'd watched it.

Looking forward to le Tour.

Thought this might be worth a post. Found it via the MacTalk forums.

Seeing as cycling and funding for new routes is topical at the moment.

I've always got my iPhone in my jersey pocket, if I could contribute to making cycling better for others then that's great.

I'll try it out and see how the data compares to the Garmin (and how much precious iPhone battery it devours).
